Crystal was born and raised in Miami, FL. As the daughter of a Caribbean family, she was introduced to music while
in elementary school. Her
musical studies and performances continued at Florida International University on an academic
scholarship. While expanding
her horizons in a world music class, she analyzed the Ray of Light album
by Madonna. She happened upon
the mysterious dance of the Middle East. Through her continuous studies in
weekly classes, workshops, and travels, this dance artist is able to
refine her unique styling and interpretation. Drawn to the wondrous
sounds of the exotic rhythms, she uses her musical background to interpret
the phrases and subtleties with dynamic precision and grace. She
evokes a sophisticated soul filled with endless emotions. The
worldly charms of this dance continue to fascinate her with every
pulsating beat.
